South Yorkshire Transport - 1083 863KNU - AEC Reliance 2MU3RV - Roe
New to Booth & Fisher, Halfway, in 05/1959, and looking smart for it's twenty years of age in 07/1979 at the Halfway depot of the former independent whom were acquired by the giant South Yorkshire PTE in 02/1976. B & F remained as a separate entity until 1978. Sister, 864KNU, is the fourth bus along and was still in B & F livery. Second in line is 8630DT, also a Roe bodied Reliance 2MU3RV, new to Doncaster Corporation Transport(30) in 12/1961. Third is 1089, 843URB, another Reliance of the same type. New to B & F in 11/1961, it was re-bodied by Marshall in 04/1966 after an accident. Fourth is the aforementioned 864KNU while just peeping in fifth in line is another former Doncaster Reliance. Ex-28, 8628DT and was re-numbered to 1090 in the SYPTE fleet.
The film was a Dixons Colourslide which has kept well and was the only Dixons one I used, however looking at these, I wish I had bought another couple at the time. I must've bought it away somewhere as there was no Dixons local to me.
I would request, as with all my photos, that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel 1979.
