Southend Transport - 358 WJN358J - Daimler Fleetline CRL6-33 - Northern Counties

I've been meaning to upload my slide collection for sometime, so this was one of my New Year resolutions.

This was either taken by myself with my late father's then 35mm camera, I think it was a Werramatic, or by him when he was stood next to me at Southend Bus Station. This was one of a large batch of 33 footers supplied to Southend in 1971 and is seen here in Southend Bus Station, advertising the delights of the Circus Tavern, and Worthington 'E', at Purfleet. I think this was July or August in the long hot summer of 1986 when we were on a day drip mystery tour on BR from Barrow-in-Furness. The mystery tours were cheap and like this one, a journey of six and a half hours was not unknown. Great value! The slide seems to have kept it's colour well.

I will post these early slides in my collection in memory of my late father(1928-2000). I would request, as with all my photos that they are not copied or downloaded in any way, shape or form. © Peter Steel, in memory of G. Steel, 1976.
