brummie autofare

It was two years ago on 16 March that I bought this and www.flickr.com/photos/8499901@N04/52766264154 for £8 on eBay and, while I scanned it in a few weeks later it's only now that I've posted it because I thought I HAD. Dating from 1974/75, it's a leaflet explaining how to use Autofare.

Made by Control Systems (who took over Bell Punch in 1927), this was like an automatic fare collection system. Once you got on an Autofare-equipped bus, you dropped your money into a farebox, stated your destination before being issued with a ticket the same size as an Ultimate one...later tickets were computerised and came in strip form, a bit like an early Wayfarer.

The top half is the front and back of the leaflet while the bottom is the inside and it was a piece of piss putting it together.
