Me and Bob Waldmire at Sapulpa OK

On my way to Tucumcari and he on his way to Springfield Illinois this was the 3rd time I've ran into Bob on Route 66. I past him as he was driving east and I was headed west, I debated for a minute to try and catch him. I made the u-turn and caught up to him after a long chase and it then took me many miles to convince him to stop. The old bus isn't that fast and he couldn't figure out why I wouldn't pass and why I was flashing my lights and stuff. He's used to people passing and probably had his share of "road ragers" buggin' him in the slower bus. He was just plain mad by the time he slowed down and I yelled from car to car that I had met him before and wanted to say hi. He said to follow him to Sapulpa and we pulled under this old gas station canopy and had a great visit. He tried to give me everything, just as he had 11 years earlier the first time I met him. I don't know him as well as I'd like, but he is one of my favorite people. Glad he drives a car that's easy to spot. April 2007

Please have a look through the photos in the group I set up in his honor...
