Pinewood Derby Car
My Father and I made this Pinewood Derby car around 1974 when I was in the Cub Scouts.
A few weeks ago one of my parishioners asked me to speak to her Cub Scout Pack. One of the things I talked about was my experiences in the Cub Scouts. I showed the boys this car and they knew it was a Pinewood Derby car, but they had never seen one like this.
These old Pinewood cars were proportioned like a front-engined Indy car and had narrow wheels. The current Pinewood Cars are proportioned like a stock car and have wider wheels.
