LOC colour photos
It is both fortunate and unfortunate that these photos are not my own. Unfortunate, in that they are some
absolutely amazing historical pictures. Fortunate, because I would have to be at least thirty or so years older than I am to have taken them! They're part of a Library of Congress photographic collection as presented online by Flickr, and I'm posting these only as a very small sample of that collection. Colour photography was quite unusual in the WW2 era; not only are there hundreds of colour images here, but the QUALITY and general interest of those images was something I found extremely impressive. If you have any interest in the history of the 20th century, these photos are well worth examining. Most seem to date from 1939 through 1943.
