Toyota Generation 1 Solara in the Neighborhood
The model was called the Toyota Camry Solara. Generation 1 was offered as 1999 to 2003 models. The one pictured is a pre-facelift version with the 2-bulb headlight unit, 1999-2000. This one is equipped with the 200hp V6 engine. It was seen parked down the street from us one day.
I like the appearance of the Generation 1 over the 2nd generation that was more rounded in style. The character of the Solara wasn’t particularly sporty, though. Generation 2 came along as a 2004 model but lasted until 2008. The Solara was not succeeded by Generation 3.
