Agricultural terraces at Pisaq ruins, near Cusco, Peru

Incan ruins lie atop a hill just outside a village called Pisac, near Cusco. Incas created the terraces more than 500 years ago, by hauling richer topsoil by hand from the lower lands and these terraces are still used! Being more than 11000 ft high, it offers a spectacular view of the valley too.
