Oslo City Hall overlooks the harbor and is an architectural master piece. It houses the city council, city administration and also art studios and galleries - almost a museum. The interior of the city hall is quite amazing with giant murals and incredible mosaics depicting a variety of scenes of Norwegian history. But most importantly, this is the place where Nobel Peace Prize is awarded on 10th December each year. Norway administers the Peace Prize, other prizes are administered by Sweden. This seemingly strange arrangement is due to the fact that when Nobel Foundation was established, they were part of same country. The union was dissolved in 1905.
