Dicyphus epilobii, Kingstown Wildlife Pond, 25 July 18 (1 of 2)
Dicyphus epilobii plant bug near the Kingstown Wildlife Pond, Carlisle, 25 July 18.
I certainly can't recall seeing one of these before, and it's quite distinctive with its first antennal segment being bright red. I've no idea how common it is in north Cumbria now that the CBDC have withdrawn county data from NBN Atlas, but there are only a few records shown for the bordering county of Northumberland.
It's only 4-5mm in length though, and so I guess it's still pretty easy to miss.
