Treaddeur slacktide

The lava had cooled this way before

Things had not gone so well above the crust

Anticline zig zagged, scissor-jacking indecisively

Diagonals were too nebulous for the old Pretender

lashing out to be heard, rolling boulders beneath a green glass wave, the rumbling seeps, drowned church bells fade,

Interior silently dripping, wading against the time of persuasion.

while we slept you went from door to door singing

In your heads but actually sowing corn in powdery tilth.

among the dunes, we heard them playing tunes and football in their tea-break on the lawn.
