Downtown Kalamazoo has committed very heavily to bike lanes, and they have this separated lane running downtown. I know people in Chicago who would go nuts for this.
If you've been following this page for a while, you might remember the Kal-Haven Trail, a really nice bicycle trail we rode a couple of times a surprisingly long time ago, according to those pictures. That trail runs 34 miles from South Haven on the Lake Michigan shore to Kalamazoo. You can follow bikes lanes from this spot to connect to that trail.
