And now, we'd arrived at the start of the talus caves, which is the main thing I'd always wanted to see at Pinnacles. I first learned about this around 2010 or so, when Pinnacles was still a national monument, and we watched a local access show called Motion that was briefly broadcast nationally on one of those digital antenna channels ... 7-4 or something. The premise of the show was that an extremely fit guy named Greg would go to some natural place and demonstrate to city folk how to exist outside, and we actually learned a lot from it. The show was based in California, so all the early episodes featured California places. One of those places was Pinnacles, and the biggest part of the episode was spent exploring the talus caves, and I've wanted to see them ever since.

Editor's Note: This is the 1,000th picture I've posted from California. It won't show up as a thousand pictures to you, because I have all those state trooper pictures hidden, but that's what it shows to me. I'll handle that sometime in the new year.
