I mentioned that Captain John had skipped over the more persnickety parts of the speech his brother, Captain Ben, had given us on our way out to Isle Royale. This included all the bit Captain Ben had gone into about slamming the door. I think Captain John skipped over it because he had his own plan for that door. The wind was coming in from the starboard side of the boat, making the door on this side hard to open and close, so, Captain John had the crewman bungee it open. This meant that people in the cabin couldn't use this door to get anywhere, but that's just one less door to slam.
