Downwind
I took another look down South Clear Creek Canyon from the parking lot atop Guanella Pass after we finished our hike. The sky had been clear down canyon as we started our hike, but high altitude clouds had shifted east, and winds had pushed lower altitude gray haze this direction. That line you see above the distant ridge is fire smoke, mostly from the Cameron Peak Fire with a little added from the East Troublesome Fire. As often happens, the fires had flared as the afternoon wore on, and smoke poured down the mountains toward Denver.
Even with fire smoke in the distance, I still think this is probably the prettiest spot in Colorado.
