Avdat-1, April 1975

Ruins of the Nabatean city of Avdat, second most important town on the Incense Route after Petra from the first century BCE to the 7th century AD

The bus dropped us off down in the valley there (Wadi Zin) at the entrance to the site, where Highway 40 runs on its way from Be'er Sheva to Eilat. We were the only visitors at the site.
