Composite Moon

This is a composite of 5 phases of the moon, from 10% Waxing Crescent to First Quater.

Each phase has been overlaid, so as to bring out the crater detail. I have also tried to bring out the colour of the moon in a layer.

In doing this I have learnt the moon moves around a hell of a lot. It not only moved further away but also seemed to rotate slightly. In the end I had to resort to puppet warp to make the features line up.

I do plan to do the other half but may wait till the waxing crescent phases.

These photos were all taken with a Canon 7D, a Tamron Adaptall 500mm mirror lens and Tamron 2x TC.
