Chicago Spring Nights
This was the last set of shots taken with the Zeiss Loxia f2/50mm. I want to thank Zeiss for loaning me their wonderful new lenses for a few weeks.
This skyline has been in my photo stream repeatedly as it has so much detail and is a good test for a lens & camera's ability for objects at infinity. Putting the mumbo-jumbo aside, this evening's capture turns out to be my favorite for several reasons...
Storms were brewing on the western horizon above the city creating a halo and throwing back at its own light upon itself. Small, unobtrusive reflection of the city off the lake surface. The shrubs and grass are no longer gray along the shoreline as they were for the last 8 months; now, they're a nice rich green. Mid-frame, one might see Buckingham Fountain going full blast - an unexpected surprise. My fingers never went numb due to cold. Lastly, multiple buildings show their support for the cure of Huntington's Disease.
