Wave Rock

A large granite outcrop, near Hyden WA. Part of one side has been eroded by wind into this stunning shape, which gives it its name.

There are a number of large granite outcrops in WA, and most of them were used to collect water, including Wave Rock. Part-way up Wave Rock a wall was built right around, to channel water into a dam (originally for railway use), also built on Wave Rock.
