Owl, Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park
Someone told us they had spotted an owl in a tree further down the track. We drove for quite a distance and couldn't see one, so we turned around and headed back to the rest spot. As we were driving along, I spotted it in the tree - we were just looking in the wrong place. I have checked my book on African birds and think this is a Southern White Faced Owl.
Update on our friend missing in Zimbabwe. The search is going on - one week today. Some remains have been found in a big crocodile which may be human, but not sure. They have been sent away for testing. My heart goes out to the family, but everyone is still being positive that he will still be found.
