We had a very emotional and stressful day yesterday with my brother. We woke to a phone call from the hospital to let us know that he was having problems with dangerously low blood pressure and warning us that it was touch and go. A couple of hours later the Orthopaedic surgeon and Anesthetist rang to say that he was being taken to surgery to repair the break in his leg as they were having trouble managing the pain and surgery was the best option, but we had to agree with them doing the surgery as he was really not well and may not come through. We knew that he would not want to be left crippled along with all his other problems, so we agreed. After a long day we were told that he had come through surgery with a couple of "interventions" and was in intensive care. I rang this morning and he is very drowsy, but doing well.
