Waterloo Barracks
The Tower of London. Waterloo Barracks. Built in 1845 as a barracks for 826, later 1,000, soldiers. It is the largest building in the fortress, The Waterloo Block was built at the same time as the Headquarters of Fusillers. The Crown Jewels are on display here.
"The large modern buildings to the E. of St. Peter's Church are the Wellington or Waterloo Barracks, erected in 1845 on the site of the Grand Storehouse and Small Armoury, which, with 150,000 stand of arms had been destroyed by fire in 1841".--Baedeker 1915
