Male Great Spotted Woodpecker ( Dendrocopos major ) - Hen pecked !!

The parent woodpeckers are so busy feeding their young now just non stop !! This male has been told off and chased away by the female and has his crest raised in indignation for having the cheek to land near her when looking for food this is him looking back at her in disbelief lol !! the beautiful white chest is a dirty cream from the absolute pit of a nest hole with its brood of youngsters .
