Drake Eurasian Goosander ( Mergus merganser ) - What a beauty !!

A drake goosander really is a magnificent bird and absolute buggers to expose properly with the total contrast of light and dark.

Amongst the most cautious birds locally they are very fast to disappear at the first sign of a human.Very very flighty locally probably being such a successful fisherman sees to that . Called Common Merganser in the United States just to confuse my followers Stateside lol !!
