Feral Harris Hawk (Parabuteo unicinctus) - Escapee !!

The Harris Hawk is a medium-large bird of prey that breeds from the southwestern United States south to Chile, central Argentina, and Brazil. Birds are sometimes reported at large in Western Europe, especially Britain, but it is a popular species in falconry and these records almost certainly all refer to escapes from captivity..This one has been at large for some time and is thriving it jesses (leather strips around its legs to hold in a glove while hunting or handling the bird ) are broken and warm so not much chance of them getting tangled thankfully. .Was lucky enough to see it land and after a 40 minute stalk with badger in tow this is 1 of quite a few shots i got
