A Tribute To Old Sam

Well friends that know me know how much my dogs mean to me they are the only family I have left .Yesterday the Same day as the late David Bowie I lost my very own Diamond Dog.

I know some people may think why are you putting this down on A public forum call it therapy.

I have had dogs of my own since I was 9 think my mum hoped it would just be A passing phase.

Anyhow back to Sam .

I had just lost my dad to cancer and as you can imagine it was A very traumatic time for me and my mum. I had decided to get A pup I went to A very notorious well known part of Merthyr and asked about A pup that fitted the bill .There he stood Sam the 1st time I laid eyes on him. The ermmm breeder was working away and was intending to drowned the little mite that just wasnt going to happen I threw what he wanted at him and left with Sam .He was only 5 weeks old but no way was this dog staying here until he was older.I drove back home with Sam sitting under the passenger seat (he was tiny ).Got home and reared the little thing on goats milk until he was fit and strong.

People say you only get 1 of those special dogs and he was mine he knew what I was thinking before I did lol and was my constant companion for the last 13 yrs. Together he helped me through the passing of my late mum and sister both to cancer he just wouldn't leave my side. He brought up young Badger who I hope has picked up some of this old mans good points.

Yesterday I came to the decision to put Sam down he was losing condition and had become stiff and sore .I can honestly say without shame I cried like A baby when he passed away in my arms still making A fuss of me until the end.

I know some of you might not understand what the fuss is about if so please move on I dont want comments etc asking why.

I have lost my soul mate my best friend and basically my shadow rest in peace my boy .i hope I get to see you again my old man .You will be missed !!
