Spalding, The Church of St Mary and St Nicolas - I think planning got the position of the new build all wrong, it completely spoils the view of the church.

At first glance, something doesn't seem quite right about the church and then you notice that the tower has got a definite lean towards the nave. The church was built in 1284 and the tower was started about this time, but built as a separate structure. The spire is believed to have been added in the early part of the 15th century. The structure has been strengthened and stabilised.
