Colorado Potato Beetle: Leptinotarsa decemlineata

Leptinotarsa decemlineata. About 3/8 inch long. Hand held.

We have a lot of Potato Beetles here on Long Island. Usually they are not liked, but I went and found one and brought it home to my potato plants. Sometimes she plays dead when you come near. This one potato beetle hasn't caused much damage, the flea beetles have the potato leaves looking like swiss cheese.
