THE 12 DAYS OF GEEKNESS - DAY ELEVEN
THE ELEVENTH DAY
On the eleventh day of Geekness
My fan girl gave to me
Eleven snipers sniping
Ten lords a-peeing
Nine ladies lurching
Eight blades a-filking
Seven zombies zooming
Six beasts a-baying
Five golden rings
Four falling birds
Three henchmen
Two turtle bros'
And a part bridge of Khazad-dûm
-----------------------------------------------------------------
CRACK!!!
No worries, it's just eleven crack shots crackin' open their Geekness bon-bons....
Though someone else seems to be a annoyed at being left out of the fun, judging by the cross-hairs zeroing in on our folks. Wouldn't give much for their chances against that lot though. Keen are the eyes of elves, and keener stll the bionic targeting sensor of the Deathlok cyborg.....
Front Row, Left to Right:
-Lady Lara Croft in her unorthodox archaeology uniform from "Tomb Raider". 2006 NECA Action Figure 18 cm (7 inch) .
-Michael Biehn as Corporal Dwayne Hicks (Serial Number- A27/TQ4.0.48215E9), United States Colonial Marine Corps Combat Armour, from "Aliens". 2004 McFarlane Toys Action Figure 17 cm (7 inch) .
Second Row, Left to Right:
-Orlando Bloom as Legolas Thranduilion, Prince of the Silvan, from "The Lord Of The Rings: The Two Towers". Marvel Entertainment Action Figure 17 cm (7 inch). As an Elvish archer Legolas's idea of armouring up is to whack on a couple of articulated shoulder pauldrons and carry an extra sword.
-Rose McGowan as Cherry Darling from "Grindhouse - Planet Terror". 2007 Neca (National Entertainment Collectibles) action figure, 17 cm (7 inch) . This time she's loaded for bear with her M16 prosthetic leg. Wonder how she clears jams?
-Lucas Bishop of the X-Men. 2006 Toy Biz Marvel Legends Action Figure 17 cm (7 inch) . I bet Hicks is thinking, "Not the BIshop I know..."
-Colonel Luther Manning as the cyborg, Deathlok the Demolisher. Toy Biz Marvel Legends 2005 Action Figure, 16 cm (6.5 inch).
-Mace Daniels from Fighting Force (Computer Game). 2000 Blue Box Toys Action Figure 16cm (6.5 inch). She's a gamer gun gal, and a Private Eye. I got a cheap job lot of these figures that I reckon will make useful conversions. Until then....
Back Row - Left to Right:
-BHD Delta Force soldier. 2005 Fame Master 4D Puzzle 12 cm (5 inch). These are actually jigsaw puzzles that are so detailed and well proportioned that they put many larger action figures to shame.
-Police Officer Action Figure 10 cm (4 inch). These came from a $2.00 shop. The plastic they're made from is poorly stabilised or somesuch, and these crappy lil' blokes break as soon as you look at them.
-Robocop Series 1. 1988 Kenner Action Figure 12 cm (4.5 inch). These were very cool, mostly because they have a hammer mechanism in the back that enables you to fire a roll of caps!
-U.S Air Force Pararescue Jumper. 2005 Fame Master 4D Puzzle 12 cm (5 inch).
This was another silly holiday shoot. I set up a few pieces of foam on the coffee table, draped over with a piece of camouflage cloth with some dyed ferret nets (leftover from my Predator costume) added for texture. The action figures are all pinned upright, since they're not very stable without their stands. Ultimately, I ended up leaving this set up for a couple of days while I hunted the right light. Even played around with the fog machine for a bit, though eventually I decided to go with this shot.
Incidentally, some people assume that because there are toy guns in this picture then I must therefore be pro-gun. Not at all. I'm cheerfully hypocritical and would be more than happy if the only guns in the world were toys. Just guessing, but that's probably not likely to happen, but hey, how is that my fault? Then there's the issue about kids' and toy guns which again, I'll sidestep, as these are just little plastic dollies, y'know? One thing I can guarantee, all of the weapons are non functional and definitely not loaded. Except for Legolas and his bow...you could put an eye out with that thing!
Doing this has given me a good idea for an anti-gun picture, which I'll get around to in due course.
Besides, I don't HAVE eleven toys that are "Vipers" or "Wipers" or "DIapers"!!
