Back when I did this one in 2009 it had been a tempestuous year for my partner and I and both friends and family. Ditto in 2014.

 

While we rise to the challenge it's a wee bit of a drain and after the complex Nativitony scene I created in 2009 as my Christmas shot I was really looking for something simple for New Years.

 

(Well, at least for the Western N.Y. My Chinese one is usually a whole different matter!)

 

And, lo! Near sundown New Year's Day we copped a sweet rainbow which I was able to dash out and capture along with the Thunder God himself, Mighty Thor!

 

Or a least the Marvel Super Hero Squad caricature version....which I keep handy when I'm keeping a weather eye out for storms.

 

I'm rather glad the light was failing, as the silhouette turned out to be just what I was looking for...

 

Oh, Mjolnir... is of course the Scion of Asgard's enchanted Uru hammer.

 

"Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, shall possess the power of Thor."

 

I reckon the Thunderer would be Mighty Thor if he lost the magnificent mallet! And who could blame him.

 

Naturally my favourite cartoon in the old 1960s Marvel Superheroes show was The Invincible Iron Man....but Thor was in there swinging too!
