I love the way one of the 'Chorus' faces seems to be smoking a lightbulb and looks like Uncle Fester from the Addam's Family!
There actually was an episode of the television show where Fester proposed by mail to his pen-pal, Diana the Circus Bearded Lady.

The Man/Woman perfomer was a staple act in 19th and 20th Century sideshows.
The Nazi's passed a law against 'freak shows' in 1937, and sent the now unemployed performers to the concentration camps.
