My wife and I went to Mono Lake a couple of weeks ago to get those spectacular sunset shots, where the reflections of the weird and wild growths at South Tufa area, are shimmering in the beautiful "mirror like" water. Also the spectacular clouds reflecting with the Tufas, like I've seen so many times by so many photographers on Flickr and other places!!! I just couldn't wait!! When we got there, the wind was BLOWING so HARD we could barely stand up!! ... No reflections, no clouds to speak of, couldn't use the tripod...wind blew it over... My wife and I stood back to back as so I could hand hold my camera and grab a few shots!! AND, it was COLD!!! Even with all of that ...it was FANTASTIC!!! It's a wild, strange wonderful, magical place. I can't wait to go back and get those "calm mirror-like, reflective shots." I'm not giving up!! Life it good!!
