Củ Chi tunnels
Củ Chi was a site of battles and military campaigns in the 1960s/1970s. A network of secret tunnels was built there from 1948 (war against French colonists), later expanded by Việt cộng partisans and used as a base of operations during the Tết offensive of 1968. The region was mostly leveled and destroyed during the war, today some of the tunnels are accessible to tourists, with 1960s war scenes reconstructed. Tourists see an old propaganda film and are shown around the site in a guided tour, including a walk through a tunnel (enlarged and equipped with electric light).
It's a trap ... you step on it and fall down onto the spikes. Ouch.
