3 MERCIAN - Sport & AT - 7X Boxing Finals 2012 7
Soldiers of 7th Armoured Brigade (the desert rats) based in Hohne, Germany fought in the brigade finals to be held on the 23rd March 2012 in Campbell barracks.
The Soldiers had already fought in regimental contests with the winners selected to compete in the brigade semi finals that saw the boxers face opponents from other regiments as well as their own.
They had been training for months and were fighting fit and ready to enter the ring to face off against their fellow soldiers. The training had been intense with very strict diets, clocking up the miles on foot and sparring in the gym. For some it has been their first year and they already showed a natural talent for the noble art of boxing.
The night was a fantastic show of courage and determination from all the boxers and was a great success.
