Who said you can't use a 50mm prime as a bird photography lens?
I was celebrating a relative of mine and as I was standing in the porch to take a photo of the birthday cake, something came flying and almost hit the window. It was this young sparrowhawk landing in the flower box, just 2 meters away from me. I had no time to change the lens, so the 50mm that was mounted had to do the job. About a minute or so we stared at each other and I managed to get some shots before the bird flew away.
