Time's Square stayed lit during the power blackout, though some lights flickered. Looking uptown from Time's Square there was darkness. Con Edison is investigating why it happened. Earlier, I was waiting to take the F subway out to Coney Island; but the subway signs kept saying delayed. So I tried another subway line, (it to was delayed) Then over the subway line Public address speaker, it was announced there was a power outage.
So with visions of being trapped underground in a subway car all night, I decided instead to spend some time in Time's Square where the lights stayed on. Later I took a 11pm bus home at Port Authority Bus Terminal, where the Port Authority police said they were running on Auxiliary power.
