Flowering Quince
Saw these at the Royal Botanical Gardens Conservatory today and thought spring will surely soon be here. At least they certainly brightened up my spirits!
These spiny shrubs are sometimes called Japanese Quince, and the name Japonica was widely used in the 19th and 20th centuries. They are native to Japan, China, Bhutan, and Burma. They bring back fond memories as we had one in our front yard when I was a little girl.
Thank you, my kind Flickr friends for visiting my site and exchanging comments. Truly appreciated!
