The world of longboarding is ever-changing and the “smash-bang fusion” of street skating and downhill is becoming more and more prevalent every day. You have all seen the Rayne Renegade before, it looked like a extra-large street deck made with Rayne’s amazing construction. The Renegade is the predecessor to Rayne’s newest diabolical creation; the Rayne Phantom. It was designed with the help of Rayne team riders Mark Short, Will Edgecombe, and Graeme Hystad, who demand premium technical quality in their products. When you shred as hard as those guys, it is clear why sub-par boards just won’t cut it.
The Rayne Phantom is 37 inches long, 9.5 inches wide, and has a variable wheelbase of 18 or 19 inches. It is big enough to handle hills but is light enough to pull off some sweet street maneuvers! The Phantom has twin kicktails that are squared off for unmatched control on blunt tech-slides and whatever else your crazy minds can think of! Tech-sliding is a tricky style of riding and without the right board you can really set yourself up for some heavy falls. Rayne wanted to make sure that you feel just as locked in on the Phantom as you would on your standard size longboards so they threw in their “Deep Tub” concave along with razor sharp edges to keep your feet in place when you are getting sideways!
Popping an ollie is a rewarding feeling. It doesn’t matter if you have been skating for 3 months or 20 years. Getting your wheels off the ground is a blast!
