CSL 144 7-25-81

Chicago Surface Lines "Big Pullman" 144 (Pullman 1908) @ Illinois Railway Museum, Union IL 7-25-81

Note marker for Chicago Railways, one of the underlying companies for the Surface Lines. Chicago Surface Lines was only an operating company; the cars and buses were owned either by Chicago Railways (like 144 and 1374), Chicago City Railway (the oldest component), Calumet and South Chicago, or Southern Street Railway. (All trolleybuses were Chicago Railways). Each had their own number series-something like Southern.
