The Truth
In this book a long time aetheist sets out to explore what current scientific thought has to say about evolution and the scientific basis for that theory. He interviews a number of eminent scientists to explore cosmology, cellular biology, DNA research, astronomy, physics and human consciousness. Whilst these subjects are at the cutting edge of scientific research they are presented in a manner understandable to the lay person with no or little scientific background.
Whilst I was studying Microbiology between 69 - 73 I could never accept the massive leap in faith required in evolutionary theory to get from a few carbon atoms joined together in a chain to a fully functioning single cell as being due to evolutionary chance. My personal view is that the Theory of Evolution (as that is what it is - but it is always presented badly as FACT) is flawed but mans thinking will not let go of it due the resulting implications.
