Belair Primary

Private schools operated at Belair from 1860. A public meeting asked for a state school in 1893. Nothing happened until this first state school opened in 1912 on Sheoak Road. Note school had a chimney on one side and good ventilation on the roof. This school closed in the early 1950s when a new state school was built on main Road at Belair. This old state school is now owned and used by St Johns Grammar School.
