Manfrotto MM294A4 monopod

I had been wanting a monopod for a while, but could never justify it. Now I think I can.

 

I have to photograph a banquet in a few weeks, and this will help me keep the camera steady as I mingle in the crowd and take photos. The lighting often isn't very good. I also think it might be neat to use the monopod to raise the camera above the crowd, using a timer or a remote to take the shot.
