MRS 70th Anniversary Function Dinner

A Church Service was held to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of the Royal Air Foces Mountain Rescue Service. The Service was held in the Chapel Stile Church in Langdale and was taken by RAF Valley's Padre Sqn Ldr Stu Shaw. Present at the service were serving members of the Mountain Rescue Service from all acroos the country and members of the RAF Mountain Rescue Service Association. At the front Group Captain Sara Mackmin (SAR Force Commander) and Sqn Ldr Steve Foulkes (Officer Commanding MRS) sat to take in the beautiful ceremony. Afterwards the group made their way through to the graveyard where they visited the grave of the founder of the RAF Mountain Rescue Service; George Desmond Graham who sadly passed away in 1980, after setting up the service in 1943.
