Where I stand today in Bellingham WA close to the Canadian border, a short hour drive north from Camano island and the closest Trader Joe's and local street art. I needed to restock the pantry and always a few extra goodies found their way into the basket. I don't buy one box of cereal but 12 to last until next time. Nearby is a sweet local Mexican cafe and grocery where I had the best authentic tacos and ranch beans. The drive was breathlessly beautiful. I counted at least 10 eagles, 2 sets of mates near their nests, an eagle and her carrion on the side of the highway, and a blue heron frozen as a statue watching for swimming things in the creek under the bridge to the island. The snow geese were abundant in the sky in V formations.
