An enjoyable cycle ride from Anuradhapura. Hopefully the political situation will improve in the not too distant future. At the time i felt wrong being waved through all the army checkpoints when even the local villagers where stopped and searched so frequently. Lose all sense of scale in this pic. Would say you could fit about a dozen people on that buddha's lap to give an idea of the size of this thing.
ACR: Converted to b&w darkening the greens and yellows in the process... the foliage in the background really wasn't grown with a small camera sensor in mind. Had made some changes to the dome, darkening and clarity mainly, but at the last minute decided the smoothness of the (blown out) dome looks not too bad so only global edits here.
