Brian digs in. The job of the swabbie (as opposed to the stomper) is to scoop the grape mush towards a screen inside the barrel. They then mush the mush into the screen, while holding a glass jug in front of the spigot, catching the grape juice. It is really easy to get a face full of grape that close to the feets.
