Burrowing Owl up a Tree

Normally Burrowing Owls hang out on the ground, close to their burrows. They hunt close to the ground catching insects and small animals. This is recycling at its best as they usually use old burrows left by prairie-dogs, ground squirrels, kangaroo rats, armadillos, or other animals. This particular Owl was startled and flew up into a tree, this gave us a different perspective to photograph this lovely owl.
