Ecological Function

There once was a functioning ecosystem where these trees lay. The evidence shows through the different species and size of the trees. The trees are now cut and dead and serve no purpose for the ecosystem in the state they are in. People have disturbed the land by clear cutting the trees and leveling the ground making new life hard to regenerate. Plants could grow again if the land wasn’t touched, but since the UW science building is being built on it, I don’t think succession can happen anymore.
