1968 Richfield teardown

The Architects Building was by Dodd and Richards. At the southeast corner of Fifth and Figueroa, it held the offices of Roland Coate, Reginald Johnson, Carlton WInslow, among others. Twelve stories high, of steel reinforced concrete, it opened in January 1928. In 1959 it became the Douglas Oil building. It is demolished in 1969 -- as was its more famous neighbor on the block, the black-and-gold Richfield Tower -- for the twin towers of the ARCO complex.
