Composite

A composite of early glass re-set in St Stephen's chapel, Bures. The kneeling figure may be that of St Gregory, as a chalice has been placed above him to the left but it is possible that these are from different sources and that they have been placed together to suggest the Mass of St Gregory. The tiny figure above more closely resembles God the Father than the Crucified Christ of the saint's vision and the peeping angel may come from yet another source.

The central figure appears to be of Flemish or German origin. It is possible that the glass came from the demolished Earls Colne priory.
